Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project – Public Scoping Meeting
Attend the Public Scoping Meeting in South Pasadena for The Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project
The project’s goal of reducing pollutants in the Arroyo Seco channel is an important and necessary objective, however, this project raises serious concerns about long-term impacts on local ecosystems and green space. Now is the time for residents to become informed so they can speak up for a better, more sustainable approach.
According to the Notice of Preparation, the public meeting “will be held to share information regarding the Project, the environmental review process, and to receive comments about the scope and content of the environmental analysis to be addressed in the Draft EIR. The Scoping Meeting is an information-gathering meeting, not a public hearing, and no public testimony or recordation of the meeting will occur. Attendees may submit comments in writing at the Scoping Meeting or submit anytime during the public review period.”
“If you would like your question or concern to be considered as part of the environmental study, we are asking that you do that in writing so we have a way of keeping track of the input to make sure it all is addressed. Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project: CEQA Submittal for Mitigated Negative Declaration. This project was submitted with a Mitigated Negative Declaration status for CEQA review. A law-suit was brought by Save San Pascual Park for a full Environmental Impact Review (EIR). The cities of Pasadena and South Pasadena settled the lawsuit by agreeing to the full EIR. We are now in that process, and the cities will be producing a new project proposal with a full environmental review, including more public input.
