Lemons, lettuce, end of season tomatoes, Swiss chard and herbs (1/31/09)

Last summer’s weird looking tomato

Yesterday I bought Big Beef, Brandywine, Tomato* Legend and Tomato* Red Cherry at Mt. Fuji Nursery in Upland. I’m going to hold off on planting until it warms up a bit, but I am so excited about this.

I also stocked up on Mesclun lettuce seed – Chef’s Gourmet Spicy Mix, Lemon Mrs.Burns Basil, Italian Large Leaf basil, Blue Lake beans and Liana Yard Long beans. I have a good crop of leaf lettuce, Romain, spicy mixed lettuce and another one I can’t remember. Also have parsley – curly and Italian, rosemary, chives, thyme and my tarragon is just coming back. Yum, yum!
