Just haven’t had the time to update this blog but will get a new post up after tomorrow night’s talk for the San Gabriel Mountains Chapter of the California Native Plant Society (CNPS). I will be speaking mostly about the plants that will be available at the CNPS-SGMts plant sale on November 13, 2010, 9 am – 2 pm at Eaton Canyon. Unfortunately I won’t be at the sale but I encourage anyone interested in getting some nice native plants to attend. Since I am now on the board of the San Gabriel Mts Chap. of CNPS I will also be discussing some of the things I’d like to see our chapter consider regarding horticulture and the preservation of native plants.

I posted the powerpoint and plant list from the talk last Saturday at Tree of Life Nursery. Had a great time with the folks of both the CNPS Orange County Chapter and Tree of Life. The talk was on Native Plants for Lazy Gardeners.

In spite of this flurry of talks, I have been putting a small amount of time into the garden. In fact my husband caught me chiseling away at the backyard lawn. I dug out another piece and planted foothill sedge (Carex praegracilis) in an effort to morph the St. Augustine into sedge.

Remember our fall is their spring. Happy planting!
