It is currently in the mid nineties. Too hot to garden. I watered my front lawn at 4:30 this morning to make the very most of the water I am using. Fortunately I soaked the parkway last week before it got real hot. That was the first time I watered that area this summer – other than a bit of spot watering of newer plants. The deergrass (Muhlenbergia rigens) greened right up.
I am still cleaning up the parkway garden in preparation for the fire inspection. You would think these people have more important things to do than look at my parkway garden in a flat, irrigated, completely landscaped part of town.
Still have to rake away the leaf mulch but will wait until right before the inspection.
