For those of you from other parts of the country I wanted to show you hot.
A couple of weeks ago I went to Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden. I took some pictures in the Cultivar Garden to share a late summer day in the garden. Last week I went back again and this time I made it out to the “Communities.” This is the northern 50 acres that are really the wild part of Garden, and my favorite place to be. It was hot and I was out there in the middle of the afternoon. Mid day is the wrong time to be taking pictures, and the wrong time to be out walking. Still, the garden was peaceful and beautiful. As I walked around I soaked up the colors, textures and smells. I can never seem to get enough of it. So pretend that the sun is blinding, and it is hot and dry, and enjoy.

Hard to imagine it without the smell, though the photos are great!

It's hot here too, unusual for late September. Even the evenings are warm, we just had dinner outside… And one day I'll make it to the botanic garden!
Hi Barbara~~ Despite the noonday sun, your photos are fabulous. I especially love the bent over trees.
I hope it cools off soon.
Ya, great photos! I really enjoyed them!
TM- I think the heat is over – for a while anyway. Let me know if you are coming to the Garden. I'd love to give you a tour.

Grace – Thanks. The bent over trees are actually Big Basin sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata). It is supposed to get to the 70s only today – finally!

CM – Glad you enjoyed.
Enjoyed your walk round the botanic garden. I've never gotten out there, but have heard much good about it. And, yes, when you took the photos, it was hot here!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you could endure it and take photos for us.
Mary Delle – we should go to RSABG together. If you are interested, let me know when you are free.
