It is late afternoon on December 12th at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden. The sun is low in the sky and it catches the deergrass (Muhlenbergia rigens) in the foreground, while the grasses behind have fallen into shadow. I can feel, smell, hear and see the peacefulness of the garden after a long day’s work.
This is my entry for the Gardening Gone Wild’s September Picture This photo competition. The other pictures that I was considering can be seen in the slide show on my website.
Great photo, Barb! M rigens really says 'California'.
That's beautiful! I like the way the grass stands out from the background.
Really nice. As MMD says, the way they stand out from the blue background is great.
Love the texture & contrast! Great photo!!
Thanks, all, for the support.
Barbara,
I wish you all luck in the contest. Your photo is a wonderful one.
Wow – that's a great dramatic shot with the two grasses layering one in front of the other!
Barbara,
Thank you for visiting my blog. I love your wonderful entry for GGW. The golden yellow color grass looks like fireworks.
Thanks to Raji and CM. CM, do you have a close up of the mystery bush?
