Wild Suburbia - Learning to garden with native plants

Horticulturist and author Barbara Eisenstein will guide us through the process of transforming a traditional, high water-use garden into a peaceful habitat garden abounding with native plants. Supplementing her advice with personal stories from her decades of experience working with native plants, Barbara will share her joys in creating a native garden and ways she worked through the challenges, including disapproving neighbors.

Barbara Eisenstein is the author of the newly released book, Wild Suburbia, Learning to Garden with Native Plants; founder of Friends of the Nature Park of South Pasadena’s Arroyo Seco; research associate at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Gardens; and expert on native plants. Barbara’s garden in South Pasadena has been featured numerous times on the Theodore Payne Native Plant Garden Tour.

Books signed by the author will be available for purpose at the event.
