South Pas Beautiful: Inviting Butterflies into the Garden with Native Plants

Feb 4, 2017 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Butterflies and Moths of North America (BAMONA) lists 144 verified butterfly species sightings for Los Angeles County alone. Some are rare and endangered, others only occur in our local region. Barbara Eisenstein will suggest native plants and gardening techniques from her new book, Wild Suburbia – Learning to Garden with Native Plants, that will attract these delightful creatures into your garden. Remember, if you plant it, they will come!

This event is co-sponsored by South Pasadena Beautiful, South Pasadena Public Library, and Friends of South Pasadena Library. Barbara Eisenstein is a research associate and former horticultural outreach coordinator at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont, California. She is the horticultural chair of the San Gabriel Mountains chapter of the California Native Plant Society.
