Best Practices for Gardening with Native Plants

Dec 3, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Wild Suburbia - Learning to garden with native plants

This talk will present practical approaches to transitioning from traditional resource-intensive yards to more natural, interesting, and fun gardens featuring low water-use native plants. Ample time will be left for discussion of best practices and how to convey them to the beginning gardener. This is an opportunity to share your ideas on what has worked for you, what hasn’t, and how to get the word out.

The talk is part of the Wayne Roderick Lectures presented by Friends of Regional Parks Botanic Garden

Join us for our popular series of free public lectures on a broad array of topics related to plants and natural history. Named in honor of its founder, the Wayne Roderick Lecture Series takes place on Saturday mornings from November through February at 10:30 a.m. in the Visitor Center of the Regional Parks Botanic Garden. These illustrated presentations are enjoyable for beginners and professionals alike. All lectures are free and open to the public.
